Clodagh's Party Food Tips

  1. Have some Irish Goats Cheese in the fridge over Christmas, such as Ardsallagh. It is so good wrapped in a slice of roasted red pepper or simply scooped on to a sun dried tomato with a hazelnut on top or on toasted squares of Ciabatta bread with a drop of basil pesto on top.

  2. Parmesan bread twists – I love making these as they are so tasty and simple to make! Cut a sheet of puff pastry into strips, brush with melted butter, sprinkle over lots of fresh grated parmesan and twist the sticks. Bake in a pre-heated over at 180°C for 20mins. (These are great for Christmas lunch too!)

  3. Hummus is always a winner at any party! See my demonstrating step by step a simply yet delicious hummus recipe here. Serve on toasted squares of pitta bread or raw slices of winter vegetables. To add more festive colour, blend in some sun-dried tomatoes or sprinkle with paprika. View recipe

  4. Honey roasted nuts – place some mixed nuts, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds, on a frying pan over a medium heat. Once hot drizzle over some honey and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Flip the frying pan until all the nuts are coated and roasted with the honey and sugar. Allow to cool and serve in bowls.

  5. My Christmas Chocolate Cinnamon Truffles are irresistible! Take 400g of good quality chocolate and melt in a glass bowl over a simmering pan of water. Once melted, remove and stir in one dessert spoon of ground cinnamon and 100ml of fresh cream, mix and place in the fridge to set. Once set, using clean hands, roll into small balls and toss in coco powder.
